morphogenetic protein (BMP) family and the TGF-beta superfamily. This group of proteins is characterized by a polybasic proteolytic processing site that is cleaved to produce a mature protein containing seven conserved cysteine residues. The members of this family are regulators of cell growth and differentiation in both embryonic and adult tissues. Studies in rodents suggest that GDF1 is involved in the establishment of left-right asymmetry in early embryogenesis and in neural development in later embryogenesis (1). Recommended Applications WB, IP Applications and Recommended Dilution Factors WB: 1:1,000 - 10,000 IP: 1:10 - 100 Species Reactivity * Human, Mouse, Rat *Species cross-reactivity is based on WB analysis. Products Data Western blot analysis on (A) U87-MG and (B) fetal brain lysates using anti-GDF1 RabMAb (cat. #5122-1). Specificity A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues in human GDF1 was used as an immunogen. |
