proteins (FABPs) belongs to a multiprotein family. FABPs are divided into at least three distinct types, namely the hepatic-, intestinal- and cardiac-type. They form 14-15 kDa proteins and are thought to participate in the uptake, intracellular metabolism and/or transport of long-chain fatty acids. They may also be responsible in the modulation of cell growth and proliferation. FABP3 functions to arrest growth of mammary epithelial cells. It is a candidate tumor suppressor for human breast cancer (1). Recommended Applications WB, IHC Applications and Recommended Dilution Factors WB: 1:1,000 - 10,000 IHC: 1:100 - 250 Species Reactivity * Human, Mouse, Rat *Species cross-reactivity is based on WB analysis. Products Data Western blot analysis on (A) fetal muscle and (B) fetal heart lysates using anti-FABP3 RabMAb (cat. #5373-1). Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded human heart muscle tissue using anti-FABP3 RabMAb (cat.# 5373-1). Specificity A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues in human FABP3 was used as an immunogen. |
