Background Human Interferon-α is a cytokine belonging to the type I Interferons (IFNs), acts as a regulatory mediator of the immune response, and also shows antiviral, antitumor activity. IFNsα are used in treatment of hepatitis B and C and in antitumor therapy[1]. Human Interferon-α2 can also be used to treat hairy cell leukemia, chronic myelogenous leukemia, malignant melanoma, follicular lymphoma, condylomata acuminata, and AIDS-related Kaposi sarcoma[2]. |
